In my retirement, I'm finally getting around to getting on with this desk I began working on nearly 30 years ago.:BAttachment 495566
There were chunks missing from the turned legs and holes in the top where a bench grinder had been bolted down , worn draw runners and various other evidence of a hard life but it's starting to look like it might have been over 100 years ago.
Isn't Australian red cedar beautiful stuff? I can't wait to finish it off with french polish!
The back panel is a pine- like light coloured timber (any ideas?) which I intend to darken with some old darkened shellac that's been sitting around for years.
