Probably know -just bin it! However have Very old flake shellac (nearly 2.1/2 decades) Yeah not keen on dissolving to any useful form. Any hope/methods (all kinda looks good) Or just toss it????:C

How have they been stored. Dry dark cool airtight container?
Probably ok. Nothing to lose. Try a small batch.
Be good to know for the rest of us with similar stuff stuck deep in the back of the cupboard... :-
If it doesn't break down in a few hours or at the most overnight or it looks like soggy Cornflakes toss it. Preferably use 100% Metho if you have it if not 95% anything else will be a waste of time. Chuck it, preferably in the flake form and not the liquid. Dig a hole and stick the liquid in there.
