There are a couple of reasons for your problem:
- User didn't respond to conformation email and isn't considered a properly registered member until reply is received
You did respond and are now listed as a New Member. So it's not that!
- New Members, have to earn the right to to do certain things.
You as a New Member are stuck with this small hardship until you have earned your way to those certain things.This is as bit of a pain for a new member but is also one of the ways we have to stop ne'er-do-wells from interfering with forums by spamming or putting click bait links etc into posts.
Hope you understand why we don't let new members change profile information straight away. If we did we would have false email addresses, IP's and other items that would allow us to contact a person for whatever reason.

I am having the same problem. I have been trying to edit my signature for a week but it keeps coming up with an error message.
I have edited my signature in the past several times. It can't be a new member issue, I've been here for a long time and a lot of posts.
What is the error message doug?
Below are some restrictions for Signatures:
Maximum Characters in Signature Excluding BB Code Markup is 500
Maximum Lines in Signature is 4
Signature Image Maximum Width (pixels) 500 Height 100 Maximum File-size (bytes) 20,000
You may have to delete your current signature which is 243 characters with space. If that doesn't work and it's none of the above I've got no idea and will have to pass it on to Steven.
But give us a look at the error message first.

I gave it a try again this morning,It will not delete the current signature nor will it let me edit it.
