New woodworker here - just bought a 130 year old house and a bit of land with the new wife, and expecting to tend to a bunch of projects around the place. Have built myself a workbench, a french cleat wall and a few tool holders, and extended the pig house. Have totally no clue what I'm doing, but having fun learning. Just signed up for an online course to learn some basics, and got myself a couple of books. Look forward to chatting with y'all.

I've just purchased a large set of tools/machines, and am SUPER excited to get them installed and start playing. Unfortunately, have no clue what I'm doing, so am reading everything I can! Just found a set of "The Art of Woodworking" books online, giving me lots of useful info!
First full weekend, and with a mate, we did serious reorganisation of the garage, moved shelves etc, and build a wood storage shelf. Very robust. But still no closer to being able to use tools, or the bench, without wheeling things outside :/ I guess having more tools than space is a common problem....
Definitely a common problem! I am constantly purchasing tools and things to use for "upcoming projects". The wife keeps asking when she is going to see some of her wanted projects done. I keep saying SOON Darling:rolleyes:Quote:

Did start on the rocking horse for the grandkid - got to play with jointer, planer/thicknesser, band saw and belt+wheel sander. Next, got to cut some angles for the legs, will probably break out the mitre saw, and then the router table for roundoffs, then drill press for the hole for the handle. Hahah, lots of fun!

Welcome, sounds like your off to a good start. If your new to power tools keep your personal safety in the forefront of your mind.
I can think of 10 good reasons to be safety conscious. (I'm typing with them) :2tsup:
