Hello,
I have an air brush that I haven't used much but want to use to apply sanding sealer to some models I'm building. I've thinned the sanding sealer by about 30 percent but the flow through the gun still isn't as reliable as I'd like. Has anyone had any experience doing this?

Do you have a flow cup? This is basically a measuring cup with a small hole in the bottom; you know you have the right mix when it empties in a certain time. Quicker & 'tis too thin, slower & 'tis too thick.
It won't help you find the right mix the first time around, but once you have found it this makes it a lot easier to consistently repeat it in future...

Following a bit more research, I've discovered that the venturi size is too small for the viscosity of the paint/sealer I'm using. To thin it to the point where it works would make the product almost useless. Solution: bigger venturi = bigger tool. So I've bought a touch-up gun for larger volumes and am looking at an air brush of a suitable size for more detailed work.
