Outdoor Marine Ply Cabinets - Sealer?

Trying to decide on which sealer to use for some outdoor marine ply cabinets. They will be fairly exposed year round, sun, rain, wind, but no extreme temperatures. I intend to paint the ply black and it's the undercoat I'm uncertain about. For longevity I was thinking of applying some penetrating epoxy sealer, however that may be overkill.

Any suggestions?
