Hello from Florida
I started working with wood when I retired from the military in 2000 after 30 yrs of service. I got hooked on turning. I'm not real good but I love trying different things that I watch others do on here. I get my wood from my sister's farm in PA or the side of the road and make whatever comes to me as I'm working with the piece. I've done candle stands, tables, lamps, and bowls. Now I am getting around to using my dovetail jig that I have had for 20 years. Can't wait to see what I can turn out. Look forward to seeing your work, and learning a thing or 3.

G’day Randy,
Welcome. You’ll find a super helpful bunch of people here. Quite a few from up in your part of the woods, too. Love to see some of your work, and we especially like ‘work in progress’ threads!

There are quite a few members from USA & Canada plus the rest of the world.....
You'll find a heap of helpful & knowledgeable blokes & ladies on the forum and for most very willing to assist.
Make sure you show off your handiwork as everyone loves a photo, especially WIP [Work In Progress] photos with build notes.
