Cabots CFP oil poly - anyone used?

I was down at my Most Hated Place (by force) and saw this product: https://www.bunnings.com.au/cabot-s-...thane_p1520756

It interested me as it claims a higher wear resistance than the regular cabots poly, which is pretty good to use....

I was wondering if anyone has used the CFP or the hardener and can offer any opinion?

I'll be using this as a test (??) On some timber with a view to put onto my fine boxes. The regular poly is good, but takes an eternity to harden.

I have used a lot of the CFP floor poly on tables and it stood up well as they were in a restaurant. That side the only way we could get a good finish was by spraying it and that wastes a lot of the product but I wasn't paying the bills so we sprayed it and the finish was terrific and stayed that way.

My plan doesn't require a super flat finish, but I certainly spray when I can. I enjoy it (but not the cleanup!)

With poly I wait until it has hardened and rub it back to an ultra dead flat gloss glass-like finish.

I've experimented with epoxy, CA and nitro and admit that poly does a fine job with very few hassles.... Well the only one -->> drying time.

If the CFP gives me overnight hardening, I'd be very pleased (their website doesn't mention how is used!!!)

I recall we were giving it a few days to harden but that was a few years ago so don't quote me. Once it was on I did not touch it because the customer wanted a gloss finish as bright as he could get and I wanted the least time and effort as it was basically a love job.

I used this for most of our bedroom floors and it has stood the test of time and children really well. My only problem was back then I knew nothing of sanding and it certainly highlights the timber and my sanding :)

Cabots say their water-based CFP is tougher than the oil based version. It has a 3 hour recoat time, comes in satin and gloss.

Indeed. The cabots poly is very good. I've a 4L tin and despite the huge number of projects it still had 3L left!

Each box receives three coats, quickly rubbed with a green 3M scrubby between coats, left to dry until hard, then sanded/finished to a glass polish.

It's good, but can take an age to harden.... Hence me thinking of using the CFP.

Maybe I should just bite the bullet and give it a go!
