Too big to eat as the flavour just isn't the same. When it happens to our plants, we keep them for next years seed.
we use to grow them all the time as my wife likes them, i don't.
The things just grow so damm fast, I've never seen a veg/fruit grow so quick, left it for a a few days and your got a marrow on your hands
Our Zucc's seem to do this in 3 days!
I chop them up with a shovel and dig them back into the bed. They come up themselves now, like the potatoes and tomatoes. Super strong and the late frost doesnt zap them :)
Yep, I think that these only took a few extra days to explode like they have. Last year was the same but they were in a different spot in the patch and easier to see when they were ready (for the most part) only had one that went nuts. Will keep a better eye on them now [emoji16]

Peter Cundle (ex Gardening Australia ABC TV) rightfully described them as Zeppelins.
I know one fella who used to stuff them with mince meat and bake them in the oven. Seemed to work for him
Hmmm, right up there with broccoli, sprouts, asparagus and eggplant ~ not on my plate.
Since the ops last post we have now picked a further 7 zucchini off three plants!
When they get a bit big I slice the large end about half an inch thick, use a spoon to get the seed and pitch out, put them in a hot fry pan and seal both sides. Then break an egg into the well, turn over and cook the other side.
The other way to cook them is to use a small amount of Caraway seed as the herb for flavor.
Grating them is another way of making patties by adding an egg, Parmesan cheese and corn flour, mix together and fry.

Or just put them in the worm farm after chopping them up.
14 new Zucc's harvested tonight....
5 yesterday, 3 day before. Its getting out of hand :oo:
