Make sure the boss is not around, leave early and hope no one calls.
Divert your work phone to your mobile and you can just stay home.
Years ago I worked for a company and the area manager was a control freak always ringing everyone on their mobile for the stupidest of reasons so one day we diverted all our phones (10 staff) to his, after about 4 hrs of answering himself he gave up, problem solvedQuote:

Sometimes my manager would call my office intending to leave a voice mail but then demanding to know why I was still in the office way after hours. I tried to explain how the telephone system worked. It would have been easier to explain to a brick. After about 2 years I gave up trying to explain.
