Hi
Hi everyone,
I have visited this forum for years and have had some great advice from it so I thought it was about time I joined.
I have had an interest in woodwork for some time, I am an amateur Luthier and have also tried my hand in box making, furniture making, green woodworking and pretty much anything else I can find time to try.
I am currently in the army but am looking at a career change in the future hence why I joined this forum to hopefully find some advice. I am looking to move back to Melbourne to become a cabinetmaker however have almost no idea about the industry or where to start looking for an apprenticeship. I was hoping someone on here might be able to point me in the right direction.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers,
Chris

Welcome to a top forum Chris.
Can't help with apprenticeship advise sorry. I've a friend that is a luthier, he sells them world wide, unfortunately he lives in the Adelaide Hills, which is a fair way from Melbourne. Are you wanting to do the apprenticeship to learn the finer skills of the craft to be able to make better instruments?

G'Day & Welcome to a top forum "Chris".
There are quite a good few members across Northern Queensland plus lots more across the rest of the country & the world.....
You'll find a heap of helpful & knowledgeable blokes & ladies on the forum and for most very willing to assist.
Make sure you show off your handiwork as everyone loves a photo, especially WIP [Work In Progress] photos with build notes.
Enjoy the forum.
Enjoy your woodwork......
Cheers crowie
