The first tree reminded me of this short article from the August 1941 issue of Woodworker. Does anyone know if that tree is still there?

Ha ha, reminds me of a nasty practical joke I once played:
Go to site toilet, remove toilet paper roll, replace with roll of 80 grit sandpaper borrowed from the painter. Lay a few sheets of toilet paper on top to disguise, wait for victim. (Tiler used to go and sit on the toilet and do his business while reading the paper for about half an hour every morning) :D :D :D
