I have been asked to turn a pair of windows brought from Queenland into a "piece of furniture without losing their charm".............
After a bit of discussion and negotiation, some of which I remember, the decision was that I would make the furniture which would be sympathetically distressed and the client will (minimally) restore the windows which will become the doors.
Work started today and I did the first fit up before leaving the shed tonight...

The frame went together very quickly but I needed to let the client see what I had in mind, so..

..... I clamped the windows .... uhhm doors.... onto the face and laid an old tabletop on top to represent the recycled kauri pine floorboards that will be used. (The blocks under the windows are just belt-and-bracing the clamps)
The client "loves it" and apparently I am "a gem"!
