Hope Kiwis are welcome
Hi there all. I have been a tinkerer whilst I was full time employed and have not moved to full time retirement, with the luxury of time in the workshop. My preference is for hand tools and traditional techniques as I have time to enjoy the journey. I found YouTube to be an inspiration on many areas but I have a great respect for those who have done it themselves, so will keenly follow posts of interest.
I have never used a forum of this nature before, appears interesting.

G'Day & Welcome to the Great Southern Land and to a top forum "Lloyd".
There are good few members from The Land of the Long White Cloud and the rest of the world as all are welcomed here.....
You'll find a heap of helpful & knowledgeable blokes & ladies on the forum and for most very willing to assist.
Make sure you show off your handiwork as everyone loves a photo, especially WIP [Work In Progress] photos with build notes.
Enjoy the forum.
Enjoy your woodwork..
Cheers from On Top DownUnder, The big island across the ditch, crowie

Welcome to the forums Lloyd. There are some very knowledgeable people here who will be able to help with any questions. I've been helped out numerous times with technical details.
As for artme, here is a guide to help decipher...http://i1212.photobucket.com/albums/...pskgvrqbji.png Sent to me by an Aussie mate ! I think he was taking the puss out of me.
I really should do an Aussie to Kiwi translation guide in response...

What struck me on my visit to NZ south island was all the ships in the paddocks.
Welcome to the Forum, Lloyd, you will learn lots.
How about teaching us about all the various NZ timbers?
