What kind of creature makes this?

Something weird happened yesterday as I was using the big drillpress.
All of a sudden this appeared.

After a while I worked out that it came from one of the hollow handles on the drillpress

Precision cut little bits of leaf, wrapped INSIDE the handle, in a perfect little cocoon...

And right at the end, some weird goo.

What the hell?

I reckon it's the leaf from what's commonly referred to as "Cow tucka tree" up here.
A big leaf tree, and the nearest one here is right across the yard...

So...something, presumably flying, has either got a whole leaf (not likely) or cut little bits (more likely) and transported it INSIDE the shed and built this thing.
In my drillpress handle.

Astonishing.

Any ideas what it may be?
