Gaps, Everywhere. Should i bother to seal them ?

Hi All,

Before summer gets too HOT i decided to rip the plasterboard off a wall and rip out a wardrobe so i can insulate the brick wall that gets piping hot in summer and turns the bedroom into an oven.:((:~:~ What kind of a nutcase doesn't insulate North \ West brick veneer walls at all when they build a new house...

Anyway, after ripping it all out i can see the ground under the house where the yellow tongue meets the wall and also some blue sky where the brick wall meets weatherboard, and a few spots around where the timber fascia meets the roof.

Is this normal ? Or could i should i seal it all up with something ? If its not going to cause any issues like reducung ventilation in the wall, and will help insulate the house at all i'd like to seal them. I know Expanding foam is one option is this the best thing ?, can i use anything else that i may have at home ?
The main concern using yucky yellow foam is that it might be visible from the outside poking through the gaps :o
