Solar passive heating your house - manhole

Ive taken the manhole off my ceiling to put away some suitcases.

Im mind blown at the amount of heat coming through the manhole heating the cold house on a spring day. We have ceiling insulation preventing natural heating so this is great.

Thinking I might put an adjustable vent on the manhole to heat the house when its cold inside, warm outside. The heat ingress has taken the edge off the cold interior on this spring day warming inside the home. SAVE A BUCKET ON GAS.
