use what to clean brush

Hi,
After varnishing the wood, can I use turpentine to clean my brush.
Can I add turpentine with varnish or paint?

I normally use a solvent similar to the solvent in the finish. For example metho for shellac, turps for oil based finishes, water for water based finishes etc.

The details should be on the tin of the product you are using. Normally the instructions recommend what to use for cleaning up afterwards.
