Urgent Advise needed for piers for porch

Hi guys, newbie here so if any one has asked this before please direct me to the answer.

I am renovating an old house and one of the two piers in porch was sinking, so decided to do it all again. Chippy prop the porch with timber and then completely remove the brick piers and did three reinforced concrete footing and now building brick piers on it to rest the timber post. Each pier will have 2 timber posts 150 x 150. I am now sweating that this might not work. Porch is about 5.5 metres long and 2 meter wide and has got tile roof.

What size are the concrete footings and how deep in the ground?

600 mm deep in ground reinforced and 900 mm x 500 mm

Should be ok provided that the ground the footings are in is natural ground and not reclaimed ground. Judging by the photo, there shoundn't be a problem.
The problem you do have is the temporary props under the roof. Get acrow props asap, those you have there scare the daylights out of me! if it goes pear shaped, you will be hung out to dry by the insurance company and the legal profession not to mention Workcover and the OH & S act.

Thanks mate (rebuild), it is not reclaimed ground.
I spoke to chippy who put the supports and was adamant that support is good enough, I have got temporary fence and will get acro pops this weekend and will also sort out the timber posts as well.

Don't wait until the weekend do it tomorrow!!!!!!

Maybe as another added safety precaution with your piers, use corbelled footings (hole is tapered around 200mm bigger down the bottom). This stops any lift from wind under verendah.
My verandah piers here at home had to be 450 x 450 x 800deep. Each state has their own regs anyway.
