Tabletop: what wood and was thinking tung oil?

Hi,
I'm very new to restoring things and do not know much at all about identifying wood.
Could you please let me know what type of wood this is and I was going to paint the legs an antique white and sand the tabletop back and use feast Watson tung oil.
Will this work well on this wood?
Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

I'd take it to a local Mens Shed, Saw Mill or established Timber Merchant and ask them - and about tung oil.
