How to remove very stubborn "hipy" style decals from a sliding door.tried everything!

Would anyone have any ideas how to remove a stubborn hard as a rock sticky decal from a sliding door
Ive tried metho, a product from bunnings (can't remember name of it), hot soapy water, toothbrush and a scraper
No luck
..
The sliding door glass is a darker shade than clear so it may also have a tint under the sticker to contend with unless the tint is part of the glass colour...
Any ideas on a chemical/ product that will dissolve this bugger?
