Triton Rta320 Insert Plate

Hello to all.

This is my first post on this Forum, and hope someone can help me out.

In anticipation of buying myself a Triton TRA001 and an Insert plate RTA300 with all the bits, in a few weeks time, I want to make the hole in my router table to suit.
So can someone give me the exact measurements of the RTA320 insert?

Ive a Kreg plate and it's a standard size.

Another friend had the triton plate you mentioned and said it flexed too much. Not enough ribbing perhaps. He bought the Kreg and hasn't complained once, so it must be OK :)

To fit, one just traces around the outside, forstner bits to cut the corners, set up the router to do the straight bits. I then use the Kreg corner adjusters, but you can simply route out the right height and trim to adjust.

But will the Triton TRA001 easily fit the Kreg plate?

Kreg make their plates to suit specific router brands and to my knowledge are the only one who have specifically built a plate to suit Triton routers. It's the way I'd go for sure.

Welcome to the forum Gray.

One trick for the TR series router and Kreg plate is to mount the router so that the handles are aligned with one of the diagonals of the plate, rather than straight across the long axis of the plate. This gives you extra room to remove the router and plate as an assembly if you ever have to. I also removed the passive handle from the router and store it and it's screw a drawer in the table cabinet, that gives even more wriggle room.

I have the earlier TRA series router without the through table height winder, so I am not able to suggest which diagonal to orient the router on to give good access to the switch and speed control below the table and the winder above the table.
