Stud wall fixing options???

I'm back. Didn't get much response from my last question so I took that as a bad thing so have changed my construction plans.

So new question. When building a stud wall. 7m long x 3m high. In a room that has a 8m ceiling. Will the stud wall be alright if its only fixed into the ground and side 2 walls. i.e. there will be empty space between the top plate and ceiling. so no fixing of the top plate to anything. is that enough to keep the 7m long wall from wobbling?
