Removing Posts in Living Room

Hi Guys,
I have been reading though the forum and it is a great wealth of information. I am undertaking my second renovation and am looking at removing a couple of hardwood load bearing posts in the middle of the living room. The house itself is an 80's hardwood frame house with a tin roof and conventional roof frame. The living room is 9m long and 7m wide with a deck attached to the long side (extends out to ~9.2m with the rafters going to edge of deck). The living area has 2 hardwood strutting/hanging beams running along the full 9m (looks to be an old enclosed verandah wall that has been removed) half way between the ridge and the wall opposite the deck. There are struts from each rafter onto the beam.

I already have a couple of universal beams (250UB31.4) and some 75 gal SHS (4 mm thick). I plan on using the uni beams at 3m centres bolted through the top plate and into the shs posts to span the 7m from wall to wall and support the ceiling (gyprock) with hanging beams between the uni beams. To support the roof load I am going to use 4" x 3" HW underpurlins with struts down onto the univeral beams. Due to the slope of the site one side will be chem setted into a concrete slab while the other end will be bolted onto the 5x3" bearers. I have been utilising the onesteel universal beam span tables and framing standard as1684 and am wondering what your guys thoughts are on my plan. I am going to get in contact with a mate who is a structural engineer to run it past him but thought I would throw it out to you guys for opinions.
