Framing formulas

Hi guys,

Just wondering if there are any chippies out there that would be interested in sharing their carpentry formulas for first fix - particularly for roofing.

Im struggling to find metric formulas that are relatively easy to understand for rafter, hips ridge etc. can be both calculator based or steel square based.

This is something i find quite interesting. Feel free to pm me if you dont want to share your secrets with the world.

Also would love to know any interesting tips/uses you have for using a framing square. They dont get used by my boss in their traditional form but my dad used it for rafter layouts back in the day.
