Shed roller door stiff

The 5.0m roller door on the shed has been stiff from day one - it's extremely hard to open. I'd like to add a door opener, but the weight of the door is too great. I'm assuming this is just tensioning of the spring. Correct? Is it the two blokes with stilsons approach?
