This is where you need to send beer.
Don't worry Cliff, you can come and shelter here.
It'll all be over faster then.
BRING YOUR OWN BEER (and lots of it - and a fridge -- and a generator - and petrol - and a boat)

Stay safe Cliff. Looks like it will be a doozy.
Good luck and hang on to your hat.
A deeply concerning time again. Stay safe, and look on the bright side - there'll be stacks of timber available afterwards.
If you're into sailing, you could have fun breaking speed records.
Watch out for falling trees, and get the chainsaw ready.
Hope you guys keep out of trouble up there in the next few days.
Stay safe,
Alan...
Good luck Cliffy
Hey guys! keep safe & your tools high & dry:;
Keep your head down Cliff - from what they [the met bureau] are saying it could be a case of grabbing both your ankles, bending really low and kissing your a.$. goodbye.
Have you ever heard this one - perhaps there could be a lesson in it. I love the humour of Bill Cosby.

It is still 290Kms away from us but it has come up against the coast & is loosing some speed.
We've had more than 50mm of rain since 9am & it is starting to get heavier.
Wind has picked up in the last 2 hours, moved from a breeze to gusty fairly quickly.
It should only be a tropical low when it goes past, we are ready for it.
I have a 12 tonne tilt tray and a 8 tonne skip bin trucks at the ready
Stay safe Cliff, although I am guessing it will be a while before you read this with the power out. I'll look forward to hearing from you again. I liked Chillagoe: Interesting place (for a visit). Local postmaster here used to be a ranger out at the caves.
Regards
Paul
