Sideboard Restoration Help
I've started fixing up an old sideboard that we were given about 25 years ago. It was painted, which was starting to peel due to it sitting in our carport for years. I didn't think it would be anything special, so was just going to repaint it, until I started taking the paint off & found the silky oak panels in the doors. Can anybody tell me what timber it is made from & how old it might be. Apart from the dovetailed drawer fronts, it is all nailed construction. It has M.C. & Co. Ltd stamped into the back panel.
Unfortunately I started removing the old paint with a heat gun & have left a couple of scortch marks on the RH door:doh: Is there any way to remove or lighten these? I intend to finish it with Wipe on Poly.
