Replacing rotten bottom plate

I'm demolishing a bathroom at the moment, and as feared it looks like one bottom plate is rotten. I'll have a better idea of the extent of the damage and whether it requires replacing once I get back to the shower area. It may be there are alternatives to actually replacing it. It's hardwood and certainly not rotten through (not that I've got to so far), but at least somewhat damaged. Maybe a line of nogging may (for example) be sufficient to just help reinforce the existing plate?

Normally I wouldn't hesitate to replace it myself, indeed just finished rebuilding a wall, but in this case it's load bearing and will presumably need propping. I've had a good run with these renovations so I may get a chippie in for this one (assuming I can find one!). At this stage I'd be grateful for some advice on what's normally involved with a load bearing wall so I can think things through as I'm demolishing.
