What type of timber for quad under eaves?

What type of timber for quad under eaves?

I am putting some new eaves in an old house and need to buy some 19mm quad to line the edge.

What type of timber should i buy? Is untreated pine ok given it would be under cover? Or should I go treated pine? Or will I get rot with both, and go hardwood instead?
