Problems Finishing NSW Rosewood

I was reading an article that said NSW Rosewood would "exude a vapour that which becomes a sticky resin on anything it settles on." Does anyone have experience with this or know weather it's an issue related to the timber not being seasoned properly or something? Also would this happen to Australian Rosewood?
