Building Designer? to check drawings before proceeding to engage Building Certifier

I have some plans drawn up for complying development to an existing property, along with plans for a secondary dwelling (both falling under NSW state legislation).

Prior to engaging a Building Certifier to take us through the process, we wanted to have our plans checked by someone who is familar with both pieces of legislation to double check they are compliant.

Can anyone help me with who this person might be....ie is it a building designer, a final year architectural student, someone else?
Unsure, but know we need someone before we proceed to the building certifier.

Anyone have any ideas?
