More bank details needed when using credit or debit cards.
I was trying to finalise a purchase in the UK and going through the usual credit card details when they came up with another one using something called Sagepay. Not only do they need all the details of your card (whether it's debit or credit) but they claim to need your Bank customer number. I called off the transaction at that point.
It's probably not a scam but what next? Has anyone else come across this?
Re: More bank details needed when using credit or debit cards.
i have used sagepay to purcgase things internationally. it isnt a scam its actually snd additional security check that us seldomly seen in australia. ive seen it once here for a melbourne based IT company. i dont know the ins and outs about it but i would say it add additional overheads for companies to implement so it might not be worth it for some companies as its more of a benefit for consumers. ive had it declined because i deliberatley entered the wrong bank member number (thinking it was a scam) but they actually check those details abd was a success once i put those correct details in.
so ive never had an issue with it, if anything it should be used more as its more secure . :D
