Rather than post in either thread of the GTG's I will put it here:

Thank you to the generosity of both hosts and the support that their wives also gave.

John and I had a great w/e at both venues and enjoyed the good hearted banter that seems to happen when like minded people gather.

It was good to catch up with people that have only been names but also to renew acquaintances with the many I have met over the years at various other shows and things.

You have both proved that it is not hard to have a GTG and I hope that Sydney and environs have many more.

Thank you all for your hospitality.

We arrived home safe and sound about an hour ago.

Good to hear you are back home safe :2tsup:. I have made it to Bega already, didn't seem to be any point stopping in between.

I also would like to say thank you to all those that made the effort, it was great to catch up, even though I copped a good share of the banter :-:U

I would like to echo what said and also give a very big thank you to Dave and his family for putting up with a couple of Mexicans parking a bloody big truck at the end of their street. Your generous hospitality was greatly appreciated. Thank you.

While we're all getting touchy feely, I would like to thank for his companionship over the weekend. If I didn't know better I'd swear that we were twins that were separated at birth. The number of times we made the same comment about someones driving, or just about anything was uncanny. The only thing we didn't see eye to eye on was the new Mini, I like it - he doesn't.

Cheers . It's actually quite a blast to have a GTG at your own place. Also gives the motivation to catch up on all that gardening that needs to be done!:B

Indeed! Take away all the gardening that I needed to do anyway, and there's not a great deal of prep involved.

TIPS FOR OTHERS CONSIDERING A GTG AT THEIR PLACE:

• Work out the amount of salad that you think you'll need, and then divide by 4, or even 6
• Tell Christos where the olives are
• Don't tell Christos where the Baklava is
• At the end, check the BBQ for hidden Snarlers
• If you provide potato chips - remember to put them out
• If you buy a couple of very large cakes (1x fruit, 1x Chocolate) either remember to put them out, or plan on adding a few kilos in the next fortnight
• If Ozhunter is coming and you're putting somes tools out for sale, let him have first crack because he may save you all the trouble
• If you are selling a Leda Disc Sander/Linisher for $130 put it out with the rest of things for sale
• You may have to change some of the labels on your drawers, particularly if Grumpy is coming
• Be prepared to use said item on Grumpy if necessary

Brett, you don't even need to do the gardening. No one's coming to look at the garden, that is unless you have some Japanese Elm. Then all the woodies seem to think it needs severe pruning :D.

Yes, I'm not too sure how Chris Parks feels about that.I mean, just because a chap changes his forum name.....

And I'd like to, in turn, thank and GJ for making the impromptu trip to the GTGs. It was a very welcome surprise to see the Mobile rumbling up the driveway on Saturday. Then we were all sworn to secrecy before the surprise for the next day.:doh:
Any other interstaters who feel like a road trip for the next one, you would be most welcome.
Although I worked out I did just under 1000km over the weekend it was worth it. Thanks to everyone who was able to attend, I had a great time.

Glad the back's feeling better GJ. :)
