The Stockman and the Banker

A stockman was herding his flock of sheep in a remote paddock when suddenly a brand new 7 series BMW pulled up out of a cloud of dust towards him.
The driver a 20 something in a Hugo Boss suit, Gucci shoes, Ray Ban sunglasses and YSL tie, leaned out the window and shouted:
“Hey, if I tell you exactly how many sheep you have in this paddock will you give me one?
The stockman looked at the man, then looked at the grazing sheep and scratched his head and answered, “Sure”
The young man parked his car, whipped out his IBM Laptop and connected it to a mobile phone, then he surfed the Net to a NASA web site where he called up a GPS satellite navigation system, scanned the area, then opened up a database and an Excel spreadsheet. He sent an email on his Blackberry and after a few seconds received a response.
Finally he prints out a 150 page report on his hi-tech, miniaturised laser printer then turns to the stockman and says,” You have exactly 1,586 sheep”
“That is correct, take one of the sheep” said the stockman.
He watches the young man select one of the animals and bundle it into his car. Then the stockman says: “If I can tell you exactly what your business is, will you give me back my animal?”
“OK, why not “answered the young man.
“Clearly, you are a banker” said the stockman.
“That’s correct, but how did you guess?”
“No guessing required.” answers the stockman. “You turned up here, although nobody invited you. You want to get paid for an answer I already knew, to a question I never asked, and you don’t know anything about my business.
“ Now give me back my dog.”
