Gidday I have been looking for awhile at different sections getting a whole lot of info, and using it as well. I am currently working on my floor in the Lounge/Dining/kitchen and Hallway.:D
Stage 1 Was to rip up all the tiles courtesy of a [was] good mate.
Stage 2 Get down on hands and knees and pray.
Stage 3 Against all advice from here and elsewhere proceeded to scrape off all the thick green compounded rubbery glue with a VERY powerful heat gun, also learnt to have a fire extinguisher nearby.
Stage 4 Sanding the floor still. Against good wholesome advice, I'm testing out my fairly new belt sander - not a floor sander.
Stage 5 Listen, listen and Do what you guys advise on what water based sealers and semi gloss or satin top coats to put on old blackbutt hardwood T&G

G'Day & Welcome Doug.
You'll find a heap of helpful & knowledgeable blokes & ladies on the forum and for the most very willing to assist.
Make sure you show off your handiwork as everyone loves a photo, especial WIP photos with build notes.
Enjoy the forum.
Enjoy your woodwork & good luck with the floor.
Cheers, crowie...
PS - you might find some extra useful info on the sister forum "renovation forum"...

Amazing
That's quite an introduction. Welcome to the forum and I hope that you do find some uplifting stories here. :2tsup:
Even if you have to create them your self.
