Best finish for external wood door

I need to refinish the front door frame. It's a nice wooden frame, but the finish is degrading, and the wood is greying. The house is only 3 years old, so I don't think the builder did a great job on it. The door is fairly well sheltered, but gets a little bit of morning sun and weather.

Any recommendations for a good long lasting finish that I can use to redo it?
