What do you use when a lint free cloth is required to apply a finish like wipe on poly
I saw a clip where tyey put a cloth inside a stocking to stop any lint coming through. Hope this helps.
Wipe it over your belly button first.
or
Somebody mentioned a while ago on here using synthetic chamois, can't remember who now.
Go to spotlight and get a few meters of 'linen' which is 100% lint free.
Or you can buy tack rags from a painters supply or crash supply
Sandpaperman sells tack cloths too. Of course, they don't work for applying finish but they are excellent for removing dust and so forth from the surface or lint from your application cloth.
I use old rags in the form of torn shirts and T-shirts - after all the washing a few years of wearing a garment involves, they are usually lint- free!
Try 'Detailing Wipes' which you can get from either SuperAuto or AutoBarn, (I can never remember which, I just go to the one whose location I know). They are cheap - you get around 200 for about $7, and they do a great job with Minwax wipe on poly. I also use them with shellac. Their distributor is Kenco Car Care in Meadowbank, NSW - they should be able to tell you other places where you can buy it.
