1) chop it into tiny little bits and use glue and pressure to create a high density board.
2) cut it into wide slivers and glue it back together in ply sheets.
3) Keep it permanently submersed in water
4) Dry it to within an inch of its life, and epoxy encapsulate
5) See 4.

Nice try, but not quite what I was looking for.
The five remaining strategies for winning out over wood movement are as follows.
1. Employ the classic molding trick.
2. Add class with floating panels.
3. Divide and support the drawers without damaging the sides.
4. Pay attention to the drawer details, inside and out.
5. Control the motion with proper finish.
These nine captions were from an article from WOOD Magazine issue 150 and was five pages long. Should you have this magazine you would find it a great article.

1. Of course!! The classic moulding trick!! (Comes at the office Christmas party just after the elephant impersonation...aaaaaaargggghhhh!)
2. There really isn't any way to add class to this forum..we are waaay up there already!
3. Last time I tried to divide her drawers was many, many years ago, and I never tried again! I suspect at our age, there would definitely be damage to the sides.
4. After all the Christmas shopping, I'm too poor to pay attention!
5. Now this one really has me :o trying very hard to find words .... a proper finish after controlling a motion is probably very very high on the list of desirable outcomes!!! :o
