How's the cabinetmaking/woodwork field in Montreal?

I'll be returning to school this September to learn the cabinetmaking trade. Anyone here in Montreal know how the industry is here in Montreal? Is it competitive or easy to find a job after? Should I make connections with people first?

Any other advice would be appreciated.
