Baby safe finishes

I know this was discussed (at least) a few years ago but I've lost the info...Looking for a list of baby safe finishes to touch up a cot that has scratched and gnawed on by a teething infant...plus any safe stains

Why would you want to finish a baby, dont the come already assembled?
