We are looking at the Elfa shelf storage systems and found the most expensive parts are the shelves, at aroud $45 for a 500x900. A bit rich I reckon, so was thinking to skip the Elfa shelves and have some shelves made from 18mm or 25mm melamine or pine. But I think the Elfa shelves lock to the brackets, so my wooden shelves may slide around a bit.
Has anyone ever done this, and did it work out OK?
