Highlighting quotes

Can someone help me.
I have tried to insert quotes in a reply to a thread but cannot get the quote to appear in a shaded background. I know it can be done but can't seem to get it to work.

the http://cdn.woodworkforums.com/images/editor/quote.gif icon in the editor lets you surround text with quotes. Or you can click on the http://cdn.woodworkforums.com/images/button2/quote.gif button when replying to someone's post.

If you're referring to this post it would be that you have removed the [quote=frame69;1255237] at the start when you deleted the rest of the message that you didn't want in the quoted reply.

All quotes must have quotes tags at start and end.
