Allan and Ray working together in Wallan.

Allan and Ray were working for the local council in Wallan. Allan would dig a hole and Ray would follow behind him and fill the hole in.

They worked up one side of the street, then down the other, then moved on to the next street, working furiously all day without rest, Allan digging a hole, Ray filling it in again. An onlooker was amazed at their hard work, but couldn't understand what they were doing. So he asked Allan, "I'm impressed by the effort you two are putting into your work, but I don't get it -- why do you dig a hole, only to have your partner follow behind and fill it up again?"

Allan wiped his brow and sighed, "Well, I suppose it probably looks odd because we're normally a three-man team. But today the guy who puts the tree in the hole, called in sick."

Off sick :no: we found out he had moved to Sunny QLD joined a WWF and was now posting old jokes :q

I really came up here to sell a few of those holes we dug but on the way up the highway quite a few of them fell off the truck and ended up in the road so just be careful coming up that highway to visit me mate. :)
