Good Evening Friends,
If you have ever used a power saw to cut a dowel into short plugs, you already know that the saw will eat six plugs to every clean one.
With a simple jig and a flush cut saw I have devised a way to cut and use every plug I make and enjoy precise length control as well.
How do you think I did it?

Went to bunnies and bought a pack of pre cut dowel? ;) ;) ;)
I actually never had a problem with the drop saw cutting dowel to length. I would get a pack of dowel stock and tape it tightly together and go for it. Had to make sure it was tightly taped though but otherwise no dramas to recall.
I drilled a hole through a block of wood slightly bigger than the dowel, cut a slot through the block with the saw then pushed the dowel through the desired length of the plug cut it and pushed and cut again and the plugs fall out the other side.
If it's dowells we're talking rather than plugs, would you think any less of me if I admit that I have cut a gazillion 6mm lengths using a pair of side cutters?

I may not be cheap, but at least I'm rough.

Once again I am with BM. I cut mine with tin snips.
