Jarrah Burl Coffee Table
I'm in the process of resurfacing a jarrah burl coffee table for a friend. It was prevoiusly coated with a thick layer of high gloss, probably Envirotech or something similar. After spending the morning sanding off the gloss I'm at this stage:
Currently sanded to #60 grit.

Apart from a couple of deep pockets, most of the gloss finish has been removed. I can't think of what to do about this except to put the burl through a thicknesser, and I don't want to do that .

I'm planning on sanding to #400 grit and finishing with Hard Shellac and Trad. Wax

GJ< can you dig away at it with a small drill and something like Dremel?

Dremel sounds like an excellent option. I was going to suggest an Arbortech to begin with, but then I saw how small the pockets are. A Dremel with a conical sanding head would be perfect.
