Load bearing

I know I am going to have to have an engineer come and look at this wall but was wondering if you can tell if this is a load bearing wall or not? We want to get rid of the half wall that separates the kitchen from the main lounge area.

This is a typical Perth suburb house built in the late 70s 3x1.
