Can I take down this wall?

I have a 40-year old ex-gov house that I want to do some remodeling to. I want to knock down two internal walls to make an open kitchen.

I put some pictures from the plan paper of my house below.

The red lines are the walls I want to knock down. Are they load bearing walls? I have heard from people that the type of roof my house is self-supporting, so I can take down any wall in the house. Is that true?
