My wife always has a go at me that after 10 years I still hoover the floor instead of vacuuming. I then recoil with esky and gladwrap. So I started thinking of brand names that we use quite acceptably with the generic product. I'm not looking for names that are just very common (eg McDonalds, Microsoft) but names where we use the brand name but don't really care if we get the brand product or not. Bacardi and coke is a good example. If I ordered a Bacardi & Coke, I'd be annoyed if it was generic white rum that I got, but probably wouldn't mind if it wasn't actually coca-cola.
