Old Post & Thread replys

Of late I have been going through some old threads but when wanting to reply or even thank those who've put the time in to create the threads I can't. Some of these threads aren't even 200 days old thats less than a year old.:roll:
Yet I have found other threads which are 7 years old or more can be replied to.

Obviously some are locked out others aren't.:unsure:

If you tick the box where is says "I am aware that this Thread is rather old but I still want to make a reply." you can add to the the thread :;
